EDINBURGH
Richard Tyler Pile, 67, of Edinburgh, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 14, 2023.
Richard is survived by his girlfriend Tamara Graham, daughters Mary F. Butler, Hannah Pile and son Asher Pile, brother Robert T. (Sherry) Pile of Columbus, sister Mary Jane Wilham of Edinburgh, and sister Nancy (Bart) Stucker of Edinburgh, four great-grandchildren and niece and nephews.
Richard was preceded in death by his parents Robert E. and Mary Frances (Sherman) Pile. His grandparents Thomas and Bessie (Johnson) Sherman.
Richard graduated from Edinburgh High School in 1974. After working in the automotive manufacturing industry for several years, he decided to join the family business, Sherman’s Barber Shop. Richard barbered for over thirty years at Sherman’s Barber Shop following his late grandfather Thomas Sherman and his father Bob Pile.
In 2022, Richard proudly accepted an award for Sherman’s Barber Shop celebrating 100 years in business in Edinburgh. Richard loved life. His children, girlfriend, family, friends, and golf gave Richard much happiness. Richard was so grateful for the enduring loyalty of his haircut customers throughout the years, which continues to this very day. It is with great sadness Richard, the dad, brother, friend, barber, will be missed. It is with sweet memories he will live on in our hearts.
The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to Miller’s Merry Manor in Hope and Our Hospice of Southern Indiana for the care and compassion Richard received by the entire staff.
A private graveside service will be held at Rest Haven Cemetery.
