Greenwood’s Meridian Street to have closures for road work

Road work will lead to closures of Meridian Street in Greenwood starting today.

Meridian Street from Main Street to Pearl Street will be closed to complete repairs on the sewer and install curbs and sidewalks, the city of Greenwood announced in a Facebook post Wednesday.

Once these repairs are complete, southbound Meridian Street will be closed from Main Street to the alley south of the Bethel Chin Baptist Church to continue the repairs. Main Street will remain open during this time, the city says.

Once all repairs have been completed, the intersection of Main and Meridian will briefly close for milling and repaving, along with the newly repaired sections of Meridian. Throughout this project, alleys will remain open, and detours will be identified, the city says.
