Searah Ellen Alvey

97 of Greenwood, Indiana passed away Tuesday, October 17th. She was born September 25, 1925, in Pawnee, Illinois to the late Martin S. &Eva L. Smith Alvey.

Searah was a very active volunteer for local Community Services in the area. She loved gardening, taking care of her flowers and quilting with her mother. Searah loved to cook and was known for her yeast rolls. She loved spending time with her family, especially with the little ones. Searah was a long-time member of Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church. She will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Searah was preceded in death by her sisters, Alma F. Horton, Angie M. Cook, Annie E. Alvey, brothers, George T. Alvey, Jesse R. Alvey, Leonard A. Alvey and Martin S. Alvey.

She is survived by her sisters, Ruth E. Alvey, and Mary G. Rickels both of Greenwood, Indiana. Several nieces and nephews, several great nieces and nephews, several great great nieces and nephews and great great great nieces and nephews.

Friends and loved ones are invited to join Searah’s family as they celebrate her life at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service &Crematory, Greenwood Chapel 481 W. Main St., on Saturday, October 21st. The visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:45 a.m., with the funeral to begin at 11:45am. She will be laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church 335 S. Meridian St, Greenwood, IN 46143.
