Shepherd eliminated from Q-Series

Erica Shepherd’s dream of qualifying for the LPGA Tour will have to wait for now.

The Center Grove graduate finished play at Stage II of the LPGA and Epson Tour Qualifying Tournament with an even-par 72 on Friday afternoon, leaving her with a four-round total of 288. She finished in a tie for 48th place, two strokes off of the cut line; the top 40 players plus ties advance to the Q-Series tournament in Mobile, Alabama beginning Nov. 30.

Shepherd double-bogeyed the 18th hole Friday to make the turn at 1 over par and added a bogey on the par-four fifth before rebounding with birdies on holes 6 and 7 to get back to even.

By reaching and completing the second stage of qualifying, Shepherd has earned Epson Tour status for the 2024 season.
