Franklin College

Women’s soccer tops Earlham

First-half goals from Katelyn Duff and Lauren Barker helped Franklin College clinch a spot in the HCAC tournament with a 2-1 home win over Earlham on Saturday. The Grizzlies (4-7-6, 3-3-2) did not allow the Quakers a shot in the second half.

Men’s soccer blanked by Quakers

Despite a 14-8 edge in total shots, Franklin College wound up on the losing end of a 1-0 score against visiting Earlham on Saturday. The Grizzlies fell to 3-9-4 overall and 2-4-2 in HCAC play.

Swimming and diving compete at Purdue

Franklin College took part in the Dan Ross Indiana Intercollegiate at Purdue on Saturday, with the women finishing fifth (and first among all Division III squads) and the men seventh. Kat Lundy paced the Grizzly women with a seventh-place effort in the 100-yard backstroke; Zachary Jackson-Blaine was fifth in the men’s 50 freestyle.

Volleyball swept by Lions

Franklin College was no match for HCAC front-runner Mount St. Joseph on Saturday, dropping a 25-17, 25-23, 25-3 road match. Miranda Wilson had six kills to lead the Grizzlies (7-15, 1-4).
