Golf coach Lundy passes away

Roger Lundy, who led Franklin College women’s golf to five HCAC championships and seven NCAA appearances, who died suddenly Monday night.

“Roger was an outstanding coach, helping many good golfers become great and even beginning golfers become collegiately competitive,” Franklin College president Kerry Prather said. “He was a master teacher, but he imparted far more than skills and strategies to his student-athletes. He regarded his role as primarily a mentor, helping his players navigate life and the college experience successfully.”

Lundy was also the men’s head coach from 2009 to 2015.

IHSAATV.org to air all state finals

The IHSAA announced Tuesday that the IHSAA Champions Network (IHSAATV.org) will be the only way to view state finals broadcasts, including football and basketball, beginning this school year. Diamond Sports Group, the parent company of Bally Sports Indiana, filed for bankruptcy in March and informed the IHSAA that their broadcast contract would not be renewed.

All broadcasts of state finals and semistate games will be behind a paywall except for golf, tennis and Unified sports; those events will be free to view. There will be no charge for sectional or regional broadcasts.
