Here’s what’s going on with I-69 the week of Oct 30

Road work is continuing for the Interstate 69 project on both the southside and in Johnson County.

Last week, I-69 Finish Line crews opened a new ramp from eastbound Interstate 465 to southbound State Road 37/Harding Street. The new ramp is about a half mile east of the White River. Motorists wishing to travel southbound should slow down and watch for the orange exit signs to merge safely onto new pavement, according to an Indiana Department of Transportation project update.

In the coming weeks, a temporary closure is expected at the intersection of Mann Road and Thompson Road for reconstruction and resurfacing work, according to INDOT.

In Johnson County, the new Smith Valley Road to northbound State Road 37 exit ramp is expected to open in early November. Motorists who are traveling northbound on State Road 37 should watch for traffic merging onto the highway, INDOT officials say.

A mobile striping crew is also expected to be active on State Road 37 next week, weather-permitting, near State Road 144 and Olive Branch Road, INDOT officials say.

Due to incorrect information being provided by INDOT, a previous version of this story said the westbound Interstate 465 to southbound State Road 37/Harding Street ramp was opened. It is actually the eastbound Interstate 465 to southbound State Road 37/Harding Street ramp.
