Here’s what’s going on with I-69 the week of Nov 13

Much of this year’s planned construction for the Interstate 69 Finish Line project will be finished by Thanksgiving, officials say.

Crews will continue to work during the winter months as weather permits, but overall construction and traffic should decrease noticeably, according to an Indiana Department of Transportation project update. In the meantime, work is continuing in Marion and Johnson counties.

In Johnson County, the exit ramp from northbound State Road 37 to Smith Valley Road opened Monday afternoon. The northbound on-ramp is expected to open on Friday, according to INDOT.

Motorists should expect the traffic signal at State Road 37 and Fairview Road to be removed on or after Nov. 16. A four-way flashing red light will be activated at the Fairview Road and Bluff Road intersection, officials said.

In Marion County, the Mann Road ramp to eastbound Interstate 465 opened last week. Additional work at the Mann Road and Thompson Road intersection will occur next year, INDOT officials say.

Also, the southbound U.S. 31/East Street ramp to I-465 westbound will remain closed into 2024.

Officials say crews expect to pave the State Road 37 northbound ramp to Southport Road next week and anticipate its opening later this year.
