Richard Steven Dransfield

Richard Steven “Steve” Dransfield, 78, of Franklin passed away on November 8, 2023, at Johnson Memorial in Franklin. Steve was born on July 8, 1945, in Beech Grove, IN to Richard and Betty (Davis) Dransfield. He was a graduate of Greenwood High School. Steve was a welder by trade, and he ran Dransfield &Associates Welding for many years. Later, Steve served as a welding teacher for Blue River Vocational School. In his free time, he enjoyed cars and motorcycles, he loved to race, and he could fix anything. He was also a member of the Jubilee Lodge #746 F.&A.M. in Whiteland, the Murat Shrine, Southside HOG Riders. Steve was a member of the Bengal Christian Church, Congregational Church of Sun City, Arizona, and Second Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Franklin. Steve and his wife spent their winters in Sun City, Arizona where he loved to spend time outside in his backyard paradise.

Steve is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Shari (Smart) Dransfield; sons: Mike (Dubonnet) Dransfield, Scott (Rhonda) Dransfield, and Steve Dransfield; brother, John (Geoffrey) Dransfield; eight grandchildren: Emily, Drew, Lane, Rylee, Megan, Kaleb, Gage, and Kyle; five great grandchildren: Kasen, Kollins, Rowan, Dallis, and Hunter. Steve also had a world of friends in Indiana and Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A celebration of Steve’s life will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday, November 18, 2023, at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service &Crematory, 481 West Main St. Greenwood. The family will receive friends from 12:00 PM until the time of service Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be directed to: Bengal Christian Church or to the Second Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church.
