Alberta Krampe

Alberta Francisco Krampe, 100, of Greenwood, passed away on November 11, 2023. Born on December 8, 1922 in Bridgeport, Connecticut, daughter of Justus and Jessie (Glenn) Francisco, she was the widow of Fred J. Krampe.

Alberta attended Booth &Bayliss School of Business and Butler University.

She proudly served her country during WWII in the US Navy (WR) WAVES and was a charter member and past president of WAVES-Indiana.

Alberta was a member of Calvary Lutheran Church and previously was an active member of St. Luke’s in Plainfield and Our Shepherd, Indianapolis.

She served in various organizations and activities, always ready to help others.

Alberta is survived by son, Fred (Marge) Krampe; daughter, Janet Grube; grandchildren, Jennifer Straumins, Karen (Jason) Mowery, Bill Grube, and Greg (Kate) Krampe; great grandchildren, Zachary Straumins, Jackson Straumins, Alexis (Nate) Thatcher, Kaleb Stanford, Braedon Grube, Will Grube, Drew Krampe, Olivia Krampe, and Kyle Mowery; and great-great grandson, Henri Thatcher.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred; granddaughter, Ann Elizabeth Grube; great granddaughter, Kylee Ann Mowrey; and sister, Janet Rothwell.

Her greatest joy was in her beloved family and in “serving the Lord with gladness”.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 17, 2023 from 12:00 pm until the time of service at 1:30 pm Calvary Lutheran Church, 6111 S. Shelby Street, Indianapolis, IN.

Arrangements have been entrusted to G. H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home at The Gardens of Olive Branch.

Alberta will be laid to rest in Concordia Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Calvary Lutheran Church.
