Indian Creek invites public to tour new athletics, arts facilities

The Nineveh-Hensley-Jackson United School Corporation, Indian Creek Schools, will host an open house celebration for the new fieldhouse and performing arts center from 2 to 4 p.m. Dec. 10.

School officials will give opening remarks and hold a short program in the performing arts center at 2:15 p.m. The facilities will be open for touring until 4 p.m.

“We are thrilled to bring these new facilities to our students, staff, and the community,” Andrea Perry, assistant superintendent, said in a statement. “The fieldhouse and performing arts center will allow for richer opportunities, growth, and development in academics, fine arts, and athletics. We are excited to see what the future holds for Indian Creek.”

The 68,000-square-foot fieldhouse features a suspended track, three regulation basketball courts, a wrestling room and a multipurpose room. The remainder of the space houses a weight room, cardio fitness room and a concession area. The 26,700 square foot state-of-the-art performing arts center seats over 900 and includes theatrical lighting, fly curtains, a scene shop, a green room, a half-depth orchestra pit and an orchestra shell.

“As a long-time member of our community and school board president, it was an honor to work with our administrators and contractors to bring this project to life,” Greg Waltz, school board president, said in a statement. “Our school board members look forward to watching our students, staff, and community thrive in this new chapter at Indian Creek.”

The public is invited to attend.
