UPDATE: Greenwood police investigating Sunday night homicide

UPDATE: 10:56 a.m. Monday 
Detectives are continuing to investigate Sunday night’s shooting in Greenwood.
Currently, they are awaiting results from the man’s autopsy, along with search warrants, said Matt Fillenwarth, assistant chief of Greenwood police. A suspect has not yet been taken into custody, he said.

“It’s an ongoing investigation,” Fillenwarth said.

UPDATE: 8:03 a.m. Monday 

The Johnson County Coroner’s office has identified the deceased person as Ethan J. David, 18 of Indianapolis.

UPDATE: 11:39 p.m. Sunday

The Johnson County Coroner’s Office is assisting Greenwood Police with a death investigation following the homicide. The homicide was described as a fatal shooting in a Facebook post by the office.

Police are investigating a Sunday evening homicide on Greenwood’s south side.

First responders were called to the 2000 block of Liberty Way Drive in the city’s Central Park neighborhood round 7 p.m. Sunday. This neighborhood is located immeidately west of Grassy Creek Elementary school.

One person is confirmed to have died, said Matt Fillenwarth, Greenwood’s assistant chief of police. The scene is under active investigation, he said.
