In loving memory of Kelsey D. Johnson, born on January 25, 1960, and departed on December 28, 2023. Kelsey was a devoted husband to Cheryl “Sherry” Johnson and a proud father to Rachel Woodward and her husband Scotty Woodward, Jessie Johnson Hazelwood and her fianc? Michael Tecci, and Wesley Johnson and his wife Claire Tollison. He found immense joy in his two grandchildren, Brody Woodward and Jack Hazelwood. Kelsey is also survived by his cousin, Jessica Walker, and nephew, Zachary Padgett.
Kelsey earned his associate degree in electronic engineering from DeVry University in Ohio, launching a successful career in information technology that spanned most of his life. In 2016, he embraced a new chapter, retiring to pursue his passion as a meticulous home inspector and a skilled home remodeler.
Son of the late Alfred Buck Johnson and beloved son of Barbara Shriver of Lebanon, Indiana, Kelsey cherished his family bonds. He leaves behind siblings Kimberly Gatzimos &sister-in-law Sharon, Kris Johnson, Jeremy Johnson, and sister-in-law Anne.
Kelsey’s love for family and friends was evident in every moment he spent with them. Whether on the golf course, woodworking, strumming his guitar, or playing darts, he created lasting memories for all who had the privilege of knowing him. May his spirit live on through the echoes of laughter and the warmth of shared moments.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Kelsey’s honor to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or to Community Cancer Center South.
A memorial gathering will be held on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 from 5:00pm to 7:00pm at Jessen Funeral Home &Simple Cremation ~ Whiteland Chapel.
