Center Grove sweeps Flashes

Host Center Grove coasted to dual-meet wins over Franklin Central on Thursday, as the girls won by a 127-56 score and the boys earned a 107-78 victory. The Trojan girls won all three relays and got individual wins from Addyson Matern (200 freestyle, 100 butterfly), Karlie Dodd (200 individual medley, 100 breaststroke), Lara Phipps (50 and 100 free), Kayla Fischer (500 free) and Brooke Trammell (100 backstroke). The boys also took every relay while also getting firsts from Max Hite (100 and 200 freestyle), Henry Lyness (200 IM, 100 fly) and Anthony Cuadros (500 free).

Woodmen dominate three-way

Greenwood had little trouble taking care of Beech Grove and Scecina on Thursday, with the boys and girls both winning by comfortable margins. The Woodmen boys got first-place finishes from Arya Gokhale (200 freestyle, 100 backstroke), Lucas Young (50 and 100 free), Emmanuel Jackson (500 free, 100 breaststroke) and David Brenton (200 individual medley). For the girls, Maria Mears (200 IM, 500 free), Ryann Marker (50 free, 100 back), Emma Tschopp (100 butterfly, 100 breast), Eleanor Guipe (200 free) and Hailey Peckinpaugh (100 free) all picked up individual wins.

Trojans defeat Columbus North

Ava Grant hit six 3-pointers on the way to a 20-point night as Class 4A No. 4 Center Grove defeated Columbus North on Thursday, 64-49. Audrey Annee added 18 points for the Trojans (18-1), hitting five 3s of her own, while Rachel Wirts contributed 16 points.

Grizzly Cubs top Royals

Class 4A No. 9 Franklin was a 66-53 winner at Roncalli on Thursday. Erica Buening had 21 points for the Grizzly Cubs (17-2), who also got 17 points from Emma Sappenfield and 12 from Scarlett Kimbrell.

Warriors dominate Cardinals

Whiteland rolled past Southport, 60-25, on Thursday. Carly VonDielingen and Sophia Dyer had 14 points apiece and Gwen Higdon added 13 for the Warriors (9-9).

Braves’ Gillin steps down

Indian Creek football coach Casey Gillin has resigned after two seasons at the school. Gillin, who was 15-8 in his two seasons with the Braves, will be working as an assistant for his father, former Creek coach Mike Gillin, at Mooresville.

Warriors take down Braves

Whiteland was a 51-28 winner over Indian Creek on Wednesday. Marcus Knapp, Jacob Attkins and Isaiah York all won by pin for the Warriors.
