New 2-in-1 Daily Journal app debuts

AIM Media Indiana is launching an updated app to provide easier access for readers who access our news content on their phones.

Debuting today, the app reorganizes and simplifies the content from the website, with a system that gives you the latest stories at the top of the scroll and allows readers to customize how they wish to scroll through postings.

The app is a 2-in-1 deal, meaning subscribers may access website content or the e-edition with one click. Or, subscribers may toggle back and forth as they wish.

Subscribers can select a category beginning with “My News,” which may be customized to their preferences.

A tutorial selection is also available to walk subscribers through the new app features.

Each story is accompanied by a headline and thumbnail photo to help make navigation easier to stories of interest.

There is a time stamp on each story ensuring readers can make sure they are reading the latest version of a story on the website, or the correct paper on the e-edition.

The app will update to the new version when a customer’s phone updates, so customers with auto-updates will automatically receive the new version of the Daily Journal app.

If the Daily Journal app does not automatically update, customers should go to the App Store and download the new version, titled DJ E-edition.

Daily Journal customer service employees are ready to help if you have difficulties accessing the new app. Call 812-379-5601 for assistance during office hours, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Readers are reminded that those who are not subscribers receive five free stories per month on the website, but are asked to subscribe after that access. Obituaries are free access to non-subscribers.

Questions? Contact our customer service employees or stop in at the Daily Journal during office hours at 30. S. Water St., Franklin. We’re happy to help.
