Vicky Sue Osborne

OWENSBORO, KY

On January 10th, 2024, Vicky Sue Osborne kicked the proverbial “bucket”…

How do you even begin to describe everything our mom was to us and so many others?

We’ll try…..and those who were fortunate to know her understood this rule; try something once and if you don’t like it, you’ll never have to try it again…so here we go:

Scene one:

Vicky was born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on May 1st, 1943, to the late Ruth Ann and Frank Jones. She was the oldest of three children and adored her younger brother Chip and baby sister Marty. Our mom loved reading, crossword puzzles, watching sports of any kind especially the Cincinnati Reds and the Indianapolis Colts, and if we’re not mistaken, has seen pretty much every musical ever made. Mom had an amazing voice and an incredible talent for turning everything into a song (usually with hilariously inappropriate lyrics). She could harmonize with anyone, especially Marty, her best friend and sister, whom she sang and performed with across the country “back in their youth”.

Scene two:

Her greatest and most important role was being a mother. She was an anchor to so many and believed life was supposed to be fun and she always made it that way. Our mom was the first to admit she was not the best of us, but she believed in us all and made us unafraid to try to be the best versions of ourselves.

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband of 50+ years, Charles Curtis, and her son-in-law Phillip Howard. Surviving are her children, Tiffany Howard, Melody (Craig) Edgar, Harmony (Greg) McCart, Coby (April) Osborne, and Ward Hessig; along with her seven grandchildren, Spencer, Aidan, Colt, Allyson, Miles, Cooper, and Harrison.

Our family will honor our mom with a celebration of life at a later date. For those of us who are feeling like we’ve been set adrift, Vick would want us to remember we always have each other, and we are all anchored together…

End Scene.
