Norman Rex Fiddler

Norman Rex Fiddler (86), of Franklin, IN, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family, on January 20, 2024.

Norman was born to Olin and Bessie (Hall) Fiddler, on September 17, 1937, in Bedford, IN. He was a devoted family man and follower of Christ. In 1975, he graduated from Bob Jones University, receiving a bachelor’s degree before starting his own church, Calhoun Baptist, in Saint Matthews, SC. After several faithful years of serving as a pastor, Norman moved his family back to Franklin, IN, where he helped set the foundation for the Johnson County Youth Services Bureau. After several years, he moved on to the US Postal Service until he retired in 2003.

He was a “pillar” and a very involved member of Friendship Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Olin and Bessie Fiddler; his daughter, Kim Kelly; his beautiful wife, Francis Ann Fiddler. He is survived by his four children, Teri (Bill) Pressley of Columbia, SC, Eric Fiddler of Franklin, IN, Beth (Jason) Harris of Greenwood, IN, and Kyle (Stacey) Fiddler of Whiteland, IN; his grandchildren, BJ Pressley, Robert (Katie) Pressley, Rachael Pressley, Amber (Ryan) Waggoner, Victoria Fiddler, Davis Fiddler, Cole Harris, Allison Harris, Jake (Katie) Fiddler, Justin Fiddler, and Jessee Fiddler; his great-grandchildren, Jesse Pressley, Braelynn Shabler, Carson Bradwell, Kaydyn Bradwell, Grayson Pressley, Londyn Fiddler, Caroline, Clark, and Clara Waggoner.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at 1:00pm at Friendship Baptist Church, located at 1600 Westview Drive, Franklin, IN 46131, with visitation from 11:30am until the funeral hour. Norman will be laid to rest at Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin, Indiana.
