Edinburgh’s postseason ended almost as quickly as it started, suffering a 50-21 setback against South Decatur on Tuesday night in the first round of the Class A Southwestern Sectional.
The Lancers finish the year with a 3-21 record.
The Cougars (14-10) led throughout, building a 12-4 advantage in the first period and stretching it to 25-9 by halftime.
Senior Kyah Streeval paced Edinburgh with eight points in defeat, while freshman Kinzie Purvis scored six and sophomore Kenna Streeval added five. The Lancers, who dropped their last nine games, are set to return all but two of their players next winter.
