It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of David Michael Titara Jr, 52, on February 4th, 2024, in Indianapolis, Indiana where he was surrounded by family and friends.
David was born October 6th, 1971, in Bedford Indiana to David Titara Sr and Patricia Ann (Callahan) Turner.
Preceding him in death are his grandparents Charles and Mary Callahan, Buford and Hester Turner, Kenneth and Helen Titara, and Don Wheeler.
He will be deeply missed by his two children, Drew Michael Titara and Abby Rose Titara, his parents Patricia and Charles Turner, his siblings, Eric (Katina) Turner and Darlene Echo (Sean) Branch, as well as his step-siblings, Jeania Turner, Jill Sheehan and Brian Titara. David is also survived by his adoring nieces and nephews; Jacob Balderas, Kaydence Witt, Patrick Branch, Benjamin Branch, David Eli (Danielle) Burton II, Corey (Haley) Burton, Lucas Burton, Courtney Grider, Brayden Grider, and Cody Sheehan, and by his loving devoted girlfriend Gina Willis and dear friend Matthew Drew.
David graduated from Franklin Community High School in 1991 where he enjoyed time as a pitcher for the Grizzly Cubs baseball team. He went on to receive his Associate of Applied Science degree from Ivy Tech Community College in 1992. In 2001, David completed the Associated Builders and Contractors of Indiana Electrical Apprenticeship Program. David worked for over fifteen years as an electrician for Citizens Energy Group where he thoroughly enjoyed his career. Before that, he also worked for Davis Electric.
David was happiest when surrounded by family and friends or on a fishing boat. His love for fishing began at the age of three when introduced to the hobby by his dad Charlie. He was a member of White River Bass Masters and Cordry Sweetwater Anglers Club where he built friendships over fish stories with many of the other anglers. Over the years, he perfected the after-catch photo and received several awards for his skill and ability to catch a whopper.
David was grateful for his experience raising goats, cows, and rabbits and cherished the time spent with Drew and Abby as they prepared to show them in 4-H. He loved God and called Emmanuel Church of Greenwood home. He lived his life with intention and made every effort to positively impact the people around him and show his extraordinary love for those lucky enough to be in his circle. His bright smile would easily light up any space he entered.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 pm, on Sunday, February 11th, with visitation starting at 12 pm at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, in Franklin, Indiana.
Memorial Contributions can be made in his honor to the IC Anglers, Inc. at Indian Creek High School or the White River Bass Masters youth fishing event.
