GREENWOOD
Patricia H. Whitaker, 81, of Greenwood, passed away on February 11, 2024 in Greenwood, IN.
Born on November 22, 1942 in Indianapolis, Indiana she was the daughter of Lloyd and Lee Anna (Loudon) Hobson.
She earned her bachelor’s degree from Indiana State University and 2 master’s degrees from Indiana University. She was a member of Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church. She received a Sagamore of the Wabash and Hoosier Heroine. She was a member Chi Omega sorority and the Happy 6. She was a daughter, wife, mother, teacher, principal, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her children, Christina Harmon, Cathleen Clady and Charles L. “Chip” Whitaker; grandchildren, Jacob Harmon, Joseph Clady, Charlie Whitaker, Chad Clady, Elizabeth (Whitaker) Bennet, Leah Harmon, Andy Whitaker and Patrick Clady; great grandchildren, Camden Flanagan, Geneveive Clady, Charlotte Whitaker, Lachlan Harmon and Clara Whitaker; and sisters, Pamela Sellers and Polly Duros.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Major General (Ret) Charles W. Whitaker.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM Friday, February 16, 2024 at Our Lady of the Greenwood Catholic Church, 335 S. Meridian St., Greenwood. She will be laid to rest at Calvary Cemetery.
