JPtheGeek to host cyber security event

JPtheGeek is hosting an upcoming event, Cyber security Series: Lunch and Learn for Manufacturing Data Protection, on Feb. 29 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the JPtheGeek offices located at 156 S Park Blvd., Greenwood.

Scooter’s Coffee gives back

Scooter’s Coffee has partnered with “Stupid Pet Tricks” on TBS, is inviting its customers to support Best Friends Animal Society, a leading national animal welfare organization.

Now through April 30, customers can visit Scooter’s Coffee in Franklin to order a special “Stupid Pet Tricks” edition pet cup.

Customers who request a pet cup will have the opportunity to donate $1 to Best Friends Animal Society, 100% of all donations will go directly to the organization.

Pet cups include a dollop of fresh whipped cream topped with a small dog treat.

Indiana celebrates legacy businesses

The state of Indiana is now accepting nominations for the Governor’s Century and Half Century Business Awards, which honor Hoosier businesses that have remained in operation for at least 100 or 50 years and have demonstrated a commitment to serving the community.

Qualifying criteria are as follows:

  • The business must have had continuous operations in Indiana for 100 or 50 years by Dec. 31, 2023.
  • The business must have participated in the same line of work for the duration of its operations. If different, an explanation of the evolution into the current business must be provided on the nomination form.
  • The business must have had its base in Indiana since it was founded.
  • The business must recognize, acknowledge and agree that it is in full compliance with the Indiana Secretary of State.
  • The business must not have previously received a Century or Half Century award from the state of Indiana. Previous Half Century award recipients may qualify for a Century award.
