Kevin Allen Simpson

BARGERSVILLE, IN.

Kevin Allen Simpson, 71 of Bargersville, IN passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at Johnson Memorial Hospital in Franklin, IN.

He was born June 5, 1952, at Coleman Hospital in Indianapolis, IN to Chester “Jake” and Geraldine J. (Lamphier) Simpson. He married Charmaine Anne (Parkhurst) Simpson on July 12, 1969, at the family residence in Bargersville, IN, she survives. As of this year, they would have celebrated 55 years of marriage.

Kevin attended Union School and graduate from Franklin Community High School in 1970.

He retired as a machinist for 35 years for General Motor Allison Transmission in 2003 to stay home and help take care of his grandson Joseph. He previously had worked for Peerless Pump from 1970 until 1978.

Kevin was a member of Union Village Masonic Lodge #545 in Providence. He loved listening to music; fishing and he really enjoyed playing the guitar alongside his Dad Jake who played the fiddle. He was a great cook, enjoyed making chili and homemade noodles, and in his younger years would barbecue ribs and burgers for the family.

Survivors include his wife Charmaine Anne (Parkhurst) Simpson of Bargersville, IN, his son Kevin A. Simpson Jr. and daughter-in-law Laura Simpson of Bargersville, IN, a grandson Joseph A. Simpson of Bargersville, IN, his siblings Rebecca Simpson of Edinburgh, IN, Louis A. Simpson (Beverly) of Avon, IN and Charmin Coy (Greg) of Edinburgh, IN, nephews Christopher Simpson, Daniel Simpson and Jacob Coy.

He was preceded in death by his parents Chester “Jake” Simpson and Geraldine J. (Lamphier) Simpson.

Pastor Perry Anderson will conduct a service on Monday, March 4, 2024, at 10AM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN and will be live-streamed at www.swartzmortuary.com. Friends may call Sunday March 3, 2024, from 2PM until 6PM at the mortuary where a masonic service will be conducted at 5:45PM by Union Village Masonic Lodge #545.

Burial will be at Simpson Family Cemetery in Union Township, Johnson County, IN.
