Dorothy Lee Davis, 87, of Franklin, passed away on Tuesday, March 26, 2024.

She was born on April 21, 1936 in Monticello Kentucky (Wayne County) to George Earl Abbott and Edna May (Neal) Abbott. She married Howard Steven “Joe” Davis on November 7, 1987. She is survived by daughters, Lisa Kay Atwood (Gary), Michelle Lea Coy (Timothy) and Suzette Renee Harke (Kenny Houston); grandchildren, Eryn, Erik, Chris, Matt, Alyssa, Holly, Brian, Brett, Candace, Sierra, and Nathan; and great-grandchildren, Olivia, Caleb, Bryce, Brittan, Jameson, Maddie Jo, Rhealyn, Liam, Naomi and Nya. She was preceded in passing by her parents, husband, Joe on April 25, 2008, twin brother, infant Delbert Ray and great grandchild, Dylan Matthew Atwood.

Dorothy was a graduate of Arsenal Tech High School in Indianapolis.

Dorothy had worked in nursing facilities. She also was employed by Franklin Community School Corp. working in the Custer Baker cafeteria, where she did a variety of jobs over the years. She also ran a produce stand in Milton, Indiana with her husband Joe for ten plus years.

She loved country music. She enjoyed listening to old country music stars at the Old Milton High School Music Center. She collected autographed country music memorabilia. Dorothy loved her cats. She faced struggles throughout her life but raised three loving girls nonetheless.

Rev. Cleon Wright will conduct a Celebration of Dorothy’s life on Tuesday, April 2nd, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin with visitation on Tuesday, April 2nd from 11:00 a.m. to time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood, Indiana.
