Whiteland Farmers Market relocates to library; vendor applications open

The Whiteland Farmers Market is relocating and partnering with the Clark Pleasant Branch of the Johnson County Public Library.

The farmers market will move from town hall to be held at 350 Clearwater Blvd., in the library’s parking lot. The market will be held on Tuesdays from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and will run from June 4 to Aug. 27.

“Our vision is to provide a local marketplace for food-inspired growers, producers, and businesses that can prosper, while offering our community the experience of locally-grown food and handcrafted items,” said Carmen Young, Whiteland’s director of administration. “JCPL is the perfect venue to host the market because it not only supports their mission of strengthening the community, but they have a prime location along U.S. 31 that provides excellent visibility.”

The market will have more space to spread out and market-goers can make it a one-stop shop to get their next read.

“JCPL is thrilled to welcome the Farmers Market to the Clark Pleasant Branch this year. We know our patrons will love having access to fresh produce and other hand-made, home-grown products from local vendors, and we hope that folks shopping at the market will stick around to visit the Library,” said Davin Kolderup, branch manager.

Applications for vendors are now being accepted for the 2024 season. Those interested can email [email protected] or visit the town website for an application at https://bit.ly/2024TOWMarket.
