Woodmen sweep Artesians

Courtney Hankenhoff homered and pitched a complete game as Greenwood finished off a sweep of Martinsville with a 5-1 victory on Thursday night. Emma Chism clubbed a three-run dinger in the win for the Woodmen (11-7, 5-5 Mid-State), who also capped off a 9-7 triumph in the completion of a previously suspended game against the Artesians.

Trojans edge Shamrocks

Ava Krupa’s RBI single in the seventh inning lifted Class 4A No. 10 Center Grove to an 8-7 triumph at Westfield. Riley Janda was 3 for 4 with a home run and 3 RBIs for the Trojans (13-6), Sydney Herrmann also had a homer among her three hits and Brynn Meyer scored a pair of runs.

Lancers overwhelm Eagles

Kenna Streeval went 6 for 6 with two doubles, four runs scored and three RBIs as Edinburgh powered its way to a 16-6 win at Jac-Cen-Del. Kyah Streeval scored three times and had a pair of triples among her four hits for the Lancers (4-10), while Lexi Riley and Elizabeth Richardson Hernandez each knocked in a pair of runs.

Greenwood gets pair of wins

Greenwood defeated Martinsville on Thursday by scores of 18-10 (in the completion of a suspended game) and 3-2. Jagger Bray had three RBIs in the opener for the Woodmen (8-10, 6-4 Mid-State), with Kyle Mitchell and Ethan King each adding two. Logan Connor struck out 10 while pitching a complete game in the nightcap.

Edinburgh routed by Jets

Hauser was too much for Edinburgh, rolling to a 24-0 victory. The Lancers fall to 10-6-1 overall and 4-4 in the Mid-Hoosier Conference with the loss.

Boys golf

Cougars top Warriors, Lancers

Greenwood Christian posted a team score of 174 to beat both Whiteland (191) and Edinburgh (241) on Tuesday. The Warriors were led by a 44 from Will Smith and a 46 from Tysen McGary.

Girls tennis

Trojans fall to Greyhounds

No. 14 Center Grove took a 4-1 defeat against third-ranked Carmel on Thursday. The lone point for the Trojans came at first doubles, where Ava Beecher and Lauren Dick picked up a 6-3, 6-3 victory.
