Investigation continues into shooting that injured 2 at Franklin home

Detectives are investigating a shooting that injured two people Saturday afternoon in Franklin.

Franklin Police were called to the 1200 block of N. Aberdeen Drive in the Branigin Woods subdivision on a report of a shooting at about 1:48 p.m. Saturday. They found two people, a male and female between the approximate ages of 32 to 35, with gunshot wounds, said Kirby Cochran, police chief.

Both people were transported for treatment for their injuries. They are in stable condition as of Monday morning, but are not talking much due to their medical conditions, Cochran said.

There is no reason for the public to be concerned at this time, he said. Officers do not believe they have another shooter or anyone else involved at this time, he said.

No arrests have been made. Cochran expects more information to be learned as the pair’s conditions improve, he said.

Detectives are working with the Johnson County Prosecutor’s Office on the investigation as well, Cochran said.
