Franklin Matinee Musicale announces scholarship recipients
The Franklin Matinee Musicale announces this year’s scholarship recipients: Emma Copes, from Whiteland High School and Lauren Kemerling, from Center Grove High School. Both seniors are each receiving a $2,000 scholarship to help with their college education.
Emma is planning to attend Anderson College and major in Musical Theatre while Lauren is planning to attend Indiana Wesleyan University and major in Music Education.
Emma auditioned by singing “A Change in Me” from Beauty and the Beast and Lauren played the First Movement of “The Tempest” Opus 31, No. 2, (piano) by Beethoven.
Zeta Lambda awarded scholarships
The Center Grove Zeta Lambda Chapter of Tri Kappa recently awarded four $1,000 scholarship to seniors from Center Grove High School and Whiteland Community High School.
These seniors have varying career interests and will continue their education at nearby universities.
Marzieh Workman, Center Grove HS – Purdue University, Brain and Behavioral Sciences
Reese Harmon, Center Grove HS – University of Cincinnati – Nursing
Chase Koester, Whiteland HS – Purdue University – Computer Science
Namjeet Kaur, Whiteland HS – Purdue University – Biomedical Engineering
High school senior receives full-ride scholarship
Hanover College presented Roncalli senior Ries Schilten with one of two Spencer Family Scholarships for Engineering.
This full-ride scholarship is renewable for four years and is awarded to those who have achieved the highest levels of academic achievement. Ries participated in a lengthy application process that culminated in an interview with the selection committee.
Ries is the son of Michele and Maurice Schilten and they are members of St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. He plans to study engineering and play soccer at Hanover College.
