Frederick “Fred” Earl Moore

Frederick Earl “Fred” Moore, 84 of Franklin, passed away on Tuesday, May 28, 2024.

He was born on January 31, 1940 in Fall Branch, Tennessee to Harmon and Myrtle (Richardson) Moore. Fred married Annalee (Lawson) Moore who lovingly survives. He is also survived by children, Freddie Moore, Joe Mathena (Lisa), Karen Cline (Greg), Karla Mathena, Kimberly Wright and Bill Mathena; grandchildren, Jesse, Donnell, Joey, Zach, Belinda, Angel, Sean, Michael, Billy, Gracie, Mindy and Seth; many great grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren. He was preceded in passing by his parents; son, Scott Mathena, brothers, Lloyd Moore and John Moore and sister, Ruth Gerth and grandson, Josh Schmaltz.

Fred was a graduate of Fall Branch High School. He was a veteran of the United States Navy from 1959 to 1961.

He was employed by Anheuser-Busch as a manager and also traveled as a truck driver with them for twenty-years. Fred was employed by Amcor as a manager, retiring after seventeen years.

He was a member of Bengal Christian Church.

Fred was a simple man who enjoyed simple things. He never met a stranger. Fred enjoyed joking around and playing pranks on everyone. He loved gardening, animals, and watching football. Above all else, he loved spending time with his wife, kids, and grandkids.

A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted on Monday, June 3, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin with visitation on Monday, June 3rd from 11:00 a.m. to time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Second Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Franklin, Indiana.
