GREENWOOD
Helen (Nickel) Kaschak of Greenwood, age 90, passed away 6/3/2024. Helen was born December 2, 1933 in Dunellen, NJ, the daughter of William and Helen Nickel, and grew up in New Jersey &Pennsylvania. Helen graduated from Dunellen High School and received her Bachelor of Sciences in Civil Engineering from Bucknell University. She married her high school sweetheart, Michael J Kaschak Jr., in 1956. She and her family made their final home in Greenwood, IN in 1971.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband Michael J Kaschak Jr.; parents, William and Helen Nickel; sisters, Carolyn, Janet and Lois; brothers, David and William. She is survived by son, Michael J (&Patty) Kaschak III; daughters, Kristen Kaschak, Marce (&Bob Noel) Massey, Marta Foster and Kim (&Ed) Forster; grandchildren, Michael J Kaschak IV, Gregory (&Keirsten) Piersall, Mallory Kaschak (&Ryan Couevas), Abby Massey (&Bill Harbeson), and Zak Massey; great-grandchildren, Bailey Rugenstein, Kori Piersall and Charlotte King-Kaschak.
Helen was an avid card player, with her favorites being Bridge and Hand &Foot. She was a Bridge Life Master and director. She loved animals and generously contributed to her favorite charities. She enjoyed vacationing in Pennsylvania and on the NJ beaches, sewing, and being with her family. But mostly, she was an awesome wife, Mom and Grandma. She will be deeply missed.
