Franklin parks cancels Tuesday karaoke event, postpones Friday concert

Two Franklin parks events will not take place as scheduled this week.

Parks & Recreation officials have canceled Tuesday’s planned Karaoke at the Amp. The event was canceled due to the expected heat and heat index, the department said in a Facebook post on Monday.

The next karaoke event is set for July 26 with Magical Karaoke at the Amp followed by a showing of “Trolls 3.” Karaoke will take place at 5:30 p.m., with the movie beginning at 9 p.m., according to the department’s website.

Officials also announced Monday that Friday’s planned Crush-Bon Jovi Experience concert had been postponed to Aug. 16. No reason was given for the postponement in the Facebook post that announced it.

On Aug. 16, Jessie Brown Duo will take the stage from 6-7:30 p.m. and CRUSH will play from 8-10 p.m., the post says.

All of these events will take place at the DriveHubler.com Amphitheater at Youngs Creek Park.
