FRANKLIN
Elizabeth “Betsy” Beckman, 91, of Franklin, IN passed away Saturday, June 22, 2024, at her home.
She was born in Greenwood on June 7, 1933, the daughter of Ruth and Robert Mauzy. Elizabeth graduated from Greenwood High School in 1945, was a Pi Beta Phi and graduated from Indiana University in 1955 with a degree in education. She lived in Greenwood for many years before moving to Morgantown IN.
In 2017, She moved to a home in Otterbein Senior Living Community and immediately enjoyed making new friends with all her neighbors and staff. She touched everyone’s lives with her kindness and sense of humor and was loved by all.
Betsy enjoyed gardening and nature, physical activities like riding her bike, reading books and traveling. She never missed an opportunity to have a new adventure or host a gathering. She loved watching sports and attending Colts games with her grandsons, Jason and Nathan. She loved her family and fur babies.
She is survived by her daughter, Betsy (Stan) Simpson of Franklin, IN; grandchildren, Jason (Kelle) Brown of Trafalgar, IN, Nathan (Sarah) Brown of Carmel, IN; great grandchildren, Merrick Brown, Mason Brown, Libby Brown, Anna Brown; niece, Jane Vogel of IN; nephews Doug, Mitch, Stuart Vogel of IN and Brad Vogel of MI.
She was preceded in death by her parents Ruth and Robert Mauzy, husband Charles Beckman and sister, Emily Vogel.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service &Crematory, 481 West Main Street Greenwood, Indiana 46142, at 12:00 PM followed by a funeral service beginning at 1:00 PM. Private burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
Final arrangements entrusted to Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Greenwood Chapel.
