Discounted Uber and Lyft rides are available as Independence Day festivities continue this weekend.
The Indiana Criminal Justice Institute reminds everyone to prioritize safety by designating a sober ride home. To help with this effort, the institute ICJI is offering $10 off Uber and Lyft rides through Sunday, according to an ICJI news release.
“This Fourth of July, celebrate safely,” said James Bryan, ICJI’s Traffic Safety Director. “Make sure to designate a sober driver when traveling to and from Fourth of July festivities.”
Up to 1,000 vouchers are available each day during the discount period. Ride credits are available between 5 p.m. and 3 a.m. the following day and must originate in, or have a final destination of Indianapolis or Fort Wayne, the news release says.
To redeem a ride credit through the program, visit SoberRideIndiana.com. Then, click on “Redeem Ride Credits” and follow the instructions for the ride-sharing service being used. Tips are not included in the discount, and users are responsible for any charges exceeding $10.
Possession of the code does not guarantee the availability of the credit, officials say.
