Pamela Hite Mann

GREENWOOD

Longtime Johnson County resident, Pamela (Hite) Mann, gained eternal rest after a short and courageous battle with leukemia on Monday, July 1st, 2024, at 6:15 am. She passed with her loved ones by her side just fifteen days after celebrating her 82nd birthday. Pam, more affectionately known as “Mom and Gams”, was one of four children born to the late Eugene W. and Patty Ileen (Jewell) Hite. Her life began on Tuesday, June 16th, 1942.

She was born and raised in Kokomo, Indiana, and graduated from Northwestern High School with the class of 1960. On August 26th, 1961, Pam married her middle school and high school sweetheart, Michael Earl Mann. The lovebirds shared thirty-one years of marriage prior to his passing on July 5th, 1992. After living a few years in Ft. Hood, Texas, during Michael’s military career, they moved to Greenwood, Indiana, in 1974, where they lived, worked and raised their family.

Pam was a devoted and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She proudly stayed home to raise her children until they were grown, and then joined her husband as the office manager at his dental practice, Michael Mann Pediatric Dentistry, during the mid-1980’s until 1991.

Outside of spending time with family, which was undoubtedly her greatest joy, Pam also took great pleasure in creating beautiful flower gardens, cooking, landscaping, and traveling, especially to the beach.

She will be deeply missed and always remembered by her family and friends including her son and daughter-in-law, Brett and Stephanie Mann of Greenwood, IN; daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Darrell Bowman of Jupiter, FL; brother, Wes Hite of Kokomo, IN; sisters and brother-in-law, Belva and Larry Spicer of Kokomo, IN, and Carol Turner of Kokomo, IN; five grandchildren, Megan (husband, Adam) Howe, Zach (wife, Danielle) Mann, Devon (wife, Katie) Bowman, Joe Mann, and Dezmin (husband, Matthew) Leeds; seven great grandchildren and a dear friend to the family and longtime companion to Pam, Jim Hofmann.

Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one grandson, Jake Mann, on April 24th, 2020.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation and Celebration of Life Service on Sunday, July 7th, 2024. The visitation will be from 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm, followed immediately by the service at 6:00 pm at Pam’s home in Greenwood. She will be entombed following a private committal service in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens in Greenwood.

The family has suggested that contributions be made in lieu of flowers in Pam’s memory to either the National Breast Cancer Foundation or the Leukemia Research Foundation.

Pam’s final arrangements have been entrusted to Neal &Summers Funeral and Cremation Center in Martinsville.

Condolences and memories are encouraged to be shared with the Mann family online at www.nealandsummers.com.
