Pauline Smith

FRANKLIN

Pauline (Berry) Smith, 78, went home to Jesus on Friday, July 19 at her residence in Franklin, surrounded by her family and prayer. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Pauline was born to William and Grace (Adams) Berry on November 16, 1945, in Scott County, Virginia. She married Eugene Smith in Gate City, Virginia, on June 27, 1963, and soon after made their journey to live in Franklin, Indiana.

Pauline loved animals of all kinds, but especially cats. She never met an animal that she didn’t love or want to take care of. She was a Community Cat Caretaker for years, providing food, shelter and love for many local cats.

She worked at Arvin Automotive in Franklin, IN, for many years.

They have two daughters, Teresa L. Brown and Paula C. (Bob) Heuchan and two grandchildren, Lance E. Brown and Jessica C. Wray (Eric) Bradner, and one great-granddaughter Charlotte C. Bradner. She is survived by her brother Ed (Detta Sue) Berry and sister Jean (Chris) Hartung and several nieces and nephews.

She is proceeded in death by her sister Ida Belle Baker, William Joe (Ethel) Berry, and her parents.

Rev. Dan McLaughlin will conduct a service on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at Flinn &Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 N. Morton Street (U.S. 31) Franklin, Indiana 46131. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the service time at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Second Mt. Pleasant Cemetery in Franklin.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Johnson County Community Cats 4247 St. Rd. 135 Franklin, IN 46131. The family would like to thank her caregivers from Main Street Hospice for their service, compassion and kindness.
