GREENWOOD
Elizabeth Marie (Cook) Cooper, 80, of Greenwood, passed away on July 28, 2024. She was born on November 6, 1943 in Connersville, Indiana to the late Edward Watson Cook and Helen Marie (Smith) Cook.
Betsy worked as the bookkeeper at Mary Bryan Elementary School and retired after 30 years in Perry Township Schools.
She enjoyed bowling, playing golf, walking her dog, Lacy, and becoming the unofficial grandma to many neighborhood children.
She is survived by her son, Robert Bryan Cooper; daughter, Beth Ann Cooper (Stephen Belans); and brother, Fred (Bonnie) Cook.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert G. Cooper.
A casual memorial gathering will be held on Sunday, August 4, 2024 from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm at G. H. Herrmann Greenwood Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 1605 S. State Road 135.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Leukemia &Lymphoma Society, the Humane Society of Johnson County, or the Wounded Warrior Project.
