Here’s what’s going on with I-69 the week of Aug 12

The interchange for Interstates 69 and 465 officially opened last week, but work continues to fully finish the project.

Westbound I-465 between I-65 and I-70 will be reduced to one lane with 20-minute stops nightly from Monday through Friday between 9 p.m. and 5 a.m. for bridge beam delivery and placement. This single-lane condition is expected to cause delays, according to Indiana Department of Transportation. Motorists are advised to use an alternate route if possible.

Throughout the coming months, drivers can expect temporary lane closures and reduced speed limits as crews complete bridge and pavement work prior to moving I-465 into its permanent configuration later this year. This includes construction at the existing Harding Street interchange.

Here is a look at upcoming closures.

On or after Friday for up to 60 days:

  • Westbound I-465 exit ramp to Harding Street closed
  • Harding Street entrance ramp to eastbound I-465 closed

Starting Mid-October 2024 (for up to 60 days):

  • Eastbound I-465 exit ramp to Harding Street closed
  • Harding Street entrance ramp to westbound I-465 closed

All construction work will be weather dependent.
