Nightime lane closures planned on I-65 south of Edinburgh

Temporary nighttime lane closures are planned on Interstate 65 south of Edinburgh this week.

Quarterhill, an Indiana Department of Transportation contractor, is conducting closures south of Edinburgh (Exit 80) to complete in-road sensor maintenance work in Shelby County. Work is expected to take up to two nights, weather permitting, according to a news release.

Lane closures are scheduled as follows. They all take place in Shelby County:

  • Tuesday, from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. — The right lane of northbound I-65 will close between East County Road 1200 and State Road 252.
  • Wednesday, from 3 a.m. to 5 a.m. — The left lane of northbound I-65 will close between East County Road 1200 and State Road 252.
  • Wednesday, from 10 p.m. to 2 a.m. — The left lane of southbound I-65 will close between State Road 252 and East County Road 1200.
  • Tuesday, from 10 p.m. to 3 a.m. — The right lane of southbound I-65 will close between State Road 252 and East County Road 1200.

INDOT officials encourage drivers to slow down, use caution and drive distraction-free in and near work zones.

All work is weather-dependent and schedules are subject to change, officials say.
