INDIANAPOLIS
Rodrick Lambert was born on January 11, 1972, to Steve and Sharon Lambert in Franklin, Indiana.
Rodrick was a 1991 graduate of Franklin Community High School. He joined the Wayne Township Fire Department in 1992 and received his second-class firefighter certification July 11, 1994.
Rodrick was a member of Olivet Missionary Baptist Church under the pastoral leadership of Reverend Dr. Wayne L. Moore.
Rodrick was a fixture at Wayne Township fire stations, visiting often and bringing his incredible spirit and smile. He was an inspiration to others, always encouraging others to never give up on life’s challenges.
Rodrick always greeted you with a smile and his signature salutation was to say, “stay safe”. He always shared his gratitude towards the doctors, nurses and caregivers at IU/Methodist for their lifelong support and medical care.
Rodrick is preceded in death by his grandmother Jessie Mae Pruitt, aunts, Theresa Myers and Constance Pruitt.
Rodrick is survived by his father Steve Lambert, mother Sharon Kay, son Michael Allen Lambert and grandson Chet Michael Lambert, other relatives, church family and friends.
In lieu of flowers the Lambert family request donations be made to Olivet Missionary Baptist Church in support of their youth scholarship programs.
A visitation for Rodrick will be held Tuesday, August 20, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Olivet Missionary Baptist Church, 4141 N. High School Road, Indianapolis, IN 46254, followed by a Celebration of Life at 12:00 PM.
Immediately following services, Firefighter Lambert will be buried at Crown Hill Cemetery in the Heroes of Public Safety Garden, with Fire Department Honors.
