David “Dave” Corwin Black, 80, of Franklin, passed away on Saturday, August 17, 2024.
He was a great man who was born on November 26, 1943 in Indianapolis, Indiana, the son of James and Juanita (Smith) Black. Dave married Ellen Lorraine (Straley) Black on May 7, 1992. She lovingly survives. He is also survived by children, Briann Black (Jess Calvert) and Joshua Black (Heidi), Trent Murray and Tyler Carlson (Margo); grandchildren, Kaleb, Corbin, Phoebe, Paxton, Gage, Brix, and Ivey. Also surviving is his brother, Greg Black. He was preceded in passing by his parents.
Dave was employed by Eli Lilly for several years in the maintenance department, retiring after many years of dedicated service. He stayed busy after retirement with part-time work.
He enjoyed boating and camping, loved the beach and enjoyed racing and gardening.
A Celebration of Dave’s life will be Wednesday, August 21st at 7:00 p.m. at Flinn and Maguire Funeral Home, 2898 North Morton Street, (U.S. 31 North) in Franklin with Visitation for family and friends on Wednesday, August 21st from 4:00 p.m. to time of service at the funeral home. Inurnment will be at Harris Cemetery in Bargersville, Indiana.
