What’s open, closed for Labor Day in Johnson County

Nearly all governments and some businesses will be closed Monday for Labor Day

However, it’s business as usual for grocery stores, pharmacies and more.

Here is what’s closed and open:

BUSINESSES

AIM Media/Daily Journal — The Daily Journal’s business offices, along with AIM Media Customer Service, will be closed Monday in observance of Labor Day. We will reopen for business on Tuesday.

Banks — Most, if not all banks will be closed.

Grocery stores — Meijer, Kroger and Walmart are expected to be open regular hours.

Pharmacies — CVS and Walgreens are expected to be open regular hours.

Small businesses vary — For best results, visit them on social media or call before setting out to shop or dine.

GOVERNMENTS

All federal, state and local government agencies will be closed. This includes the U.S. Postal Service and city/county offices.

Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles — All branches closed. Branches will resume regularly scheduled business hours on Tuesday. For a list of branch locations and hours, to complete an online transaction, or to find a 24-hour BMV Connect kiosk, visit IN.gov/BMV.

Johnson County Animal Shelter — Closed. Those with animal-related emergencies who need an animal control officer should call dispatch at 317-346-6336.

Libraries — Greenwood Public Library, all Johnson County Public Library branches closed.
