TRAFALGAR
Joseph Dale “Joe” Waltz, age 63 of Trafalgar, passed away peacefully on Thursday afternoon, August 29, 2024 surrounded by his family at Franciscan Health in Indianapolis.
Joe was born in Franklin on March 13, 1961, to his parents, the late Claude Dale and Ethel Irene (Robinette) Waltz. He was a 1979 graduate of Indian Creek High School. Joe retired in 2022 from Bennett Trucking Company in Atlanta, GA where he transported RV’s. Prior to that, Joe worked as a Construction Superintendent, remodeling and building new Walmart’s, for both Tab Retail Remodeling of Atlanta, GA and Taylor Brothers Construction in Columbus.
He was a longtime member of the Samaria Christian Church and a 26 years member of the Trafalgar Volunteer Fire Department. Joe enjoyed traveling, camping and fishing. He was an avid reader of Louis L’amour westerns. Joe’s true passion was his family, especially his grandchildren who he loved dearly and caring for his dog, Cooper.
Besides his parents, Joe was preceded in death by a sister, Karen Sue Waltz.
Joe is survived by his partner of 24 years, Kimberly M. Klobnock of Trafalgar; children, Jake (Whitnie) Waltz of Clifford, Amanda (Anthony) Hackett of Columbus, Chuck (Emily) Goforth of Trafalgar and Rachael (Billy) Wheat of Nineveh; sister, Bev Waltz of Greenwood; grandchildren, Trisha, Trinity, Tadeum and Colt Goforth, Gabe and Keeley Richardson, Morgan, Brooke, Taylor, Mason and Landon Hackett, Hudson & Willow Waltz, and Ryker Prairie; aunts, Rheta (Herb) Cook of Trafalgar and Pat Robinett of Clayton; uncle, Herschell Waltz of Trafalgar; and several nieces and nephews.
Pastor Rob Lanham will conduct a funeral service on Wednesday, September 4th at 7:00 p.m. at the Samaria Christian Church, 4779 W. State Road 135 in Trafalgar. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 4th from 3 p.m. until service time at the church. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Meredith-Clark Funeral Home Cremation & Personalization Center in Morgantown.
