Franklin Chamber seeks professionals

The Franklin Chamber of Commerce is seeking professionals to donate 30-60 minutes per month for approximately six months to support entrepreneurial programming in Johnson County.

Launch Johnson County will help start-up businesses by providing education, coaching and mentoring. Grant funding will be available to three successful candidates who complete the process and are selected by a panel of judges. A key part of the grant process is consulting with attorneys, accountants/CPAs, marketing professionals and fellow entrepreneurs to make sure their idea has the best chance of success.

Interested individuals can contact the Chamber office for more information. To register to attend the kickoff event on Sept. 10 at Garment Factory Events go to: franklincoc.com/launch.

Hoosiers can shop local with Indiana Grown

With more than 50,000 farms, Indiana stands out as a leading agricultural state and is known for supplying top-quality produce. However, less than 10% of the $16 billion Hoosiers spend annually on food is sourced within Indiana. To promote shopping local, multiple resources make it easier to buy homegrown food and handmade products throughout the state.

Did you know? Indiana Grown is a network of local farmers and producers helping connect consumers like you to Hoosier-made products. Look for the Indiana Grown label on products when you visit grocery stores, restaurants and convenience stores. You can also visit IndianaGrown.org and search for members and products near you.

Prefer to have your food delivered? Indiana-based Market Wagon is an online delivery service where you can connect with local food vendors and artisans, and purchases can be delivered directly to you or a specified Market Host. No membership or minimum purchase is required.
