Boys soccer

Woodmen blank Red Devils

Greenwood was a 2-0 winner over Jeffersonville on Saturday. Sam Thompson and Za Sang each scored a goal for the Woodmen (3-1).

Warriors fall against Owls

Whiteland was defeated by Seymour, 4-1. Austin Cooper scored the lone goal for the Warriors (0-4-1).

Trojans take a pair

Center Grove won two games Saturday to cap a perfect weekend at the Panther Invitational in Bloomington, beating Martinsville 2-0 and Terre Haute South 4-0. The Trojans improved to 6-1 with the victories.

Lancers get into win column

Edinburgh got its first victory of the season with a 25-17, 27-25 triumph over Waldron at the Indian Creek Invitational on Saturday. The Lancers (1-12), who lost 25-17, 25-15 to the host Braves and was also defeated by Martinsville, got 15 kills and 44 kills on the day from Kenna Streeval.

Trojans, Grizzly Cubs tie for third

No. 11 Center Grove and No. 7 Franklin both shot 311 to tie for third behind second-ranked Westfield (305) and No. 1 Noblesville (310) in the Hall of Fame tournament on Saturday at The Legends. The Trojans were led by a 71 from Magnolia Miller; Madisyn Bell (78), Amanda Wallace (80), Zoe Land (82) and London Dodson (84) filled out the lineup.

For the Grizzly Cubs, Reese Phillips (74), Addi Bright (75) and Lexi Ray (76) led the way, with Cass Rucker’s 88 completing the scoring. The tournament featured 19 of the state’s top 20 teams.

Whiteland girls, boys third

The Whiteland girls and boys both finished third at the Mt. Vernon Invitational on Saturday. Lena Shipp was second individually to lead the Warrior girls, with Isabella Fuentes close behind in sixth. The boys got top-10 finishes from Colton Watson (fifth), William Watson (eighth) and Nolan Edens (10th).
