Warriors defeat Grizzly Cubs

Whiteland took sole possession of first place in the Mid-State Conference with a 4-1 triumph at Franklin on Thursday. Spencer Gillespie and Jeremiah Hurt were winners at first and third singles for the Warriors (9-3, 4-0), with Hurt edging Jaxson Doddridge in a third-set tiebreaker. In doubles, Whiteland got points from Isaac Phegley and Gavin Stubbe at No. 1 as well as Quintin Gieseking and Tysen McGary at No. 2. Franklin’s win came at second singles, where Nathan Neville rallied from a set down to edge A.J. Stephenson in three.

Lancers fall to Twisters

Edinburgh lost to Oldenburg Academy, 4-1. Braden Cox won in straight sets at No. 3 singles for the Lancers’ lone point.

Trojans win 10th straight

Class 3A No. 1 Center Grove continued its perfect start to the season with a 3-1 home win over No. 10 Cathedral on Thursday night. Niekos Whitney and Austin Lowden each had a goal and an assist for the Trojans (10-0), while Evan Hewitt also found the back of the net and Matheus Gubert added an assist.

Braves sweep Edinburgh

Indian Creek was a 25-10, 25-12, 25-6 winner at Edinburgh on Thursday. Kenna Streeval had three kills and 21 digs in a losing effort for the Lancers, while Kinzie Purvis had four blocks and a pair of aces.

Center Grove wins in four

Class 4A No. 7 Center Grove was a 25-17, 21-25, 25-21, 25-18 winner over visiting Perry Meridian. The Trojans move to 12-5 overall with the victory.
