Girls soccer

Royals top Warriors in shootout

Summer Fishel scored four goals to power Roncalli to a 7-5 triumph at Whiteland on Saturday. The Warriors fell to 9-3 with the loss.

Trojans battle Quakers to draw

Class 3A No. 11 Center Grove tied Plainfield, 1-1. Jesse Jasek scored the lone goal for the Trojans (9-2-1) off an Aubrey LeMasters assist, while Anderson Broshears made five saves.

Girls volleyball

Host Grizzly Cubs win tourney

Franklin swept its way to the championship at its home invitational on Saturday, posting victories over Purdue Poly, South Ripley, Bishop Chatard and Seymour. The Grizzly Cubs improved to 17-1 overall on the year.

Boys soccer

Franklin falls to Connersville

Matt Payne had a goal and an assist but Franklin came out on the short end of a 4-2 score against Connersville on Saturday. Gavin Fugate had the other score for the Grizzly Cubs.

Woodmen sweep Sparkplugs

Greenwood was a 5-0 winner over Speedway on Saturday. Carter Chatham, Nick Pruett and Keegan Lane were straight-set singles winners for the Woodmen (10-9), Isaac Apgar and Seth McCauley won in two sets at first doubles and Beau Syers and Aiden Walton did likewise in the No. 2 position.

Lancers compete in MHC tournament

Edinburgh took part in the Mid-Hoosier Conference tournament at Waldron, with Braden Cox advancing to the semifinals at third singles and both Lancer doubles teams (Braylon Lenkner and Rylan Londeree at No. 1, Raiden Stanley and Teddy Crawhorn at No. 2) also lost in the semis.
