How to submit a political letter to the Daily Journal

The Daily Journal welcomes letters to the editor of all kinds, and during campaign season, we welcome letters on the upcoming election. All letters from a candidate, from supporters endorsing a candidate, or asking for support for a policy position can be run for a small fee of $25.

We ask that letters be submitted only regarding candidates on the ballot for Johnson County and Indiana, as well as issues facing the county and state. Due to anticipated space constraints on the opinion page, we will not publish letters on national politics or candidates for the time being.

Letters should ideally be between 200 and 600 words and may include a headshot or small photo at the editor’s discretion.

The final day to submit a political letter for guaranteed publication is Oct. 23. No political letters will be published the week of the election.

To submit a letter or ask for more information email [email protected].
