WHITELAND
Karen A. (Rexroat) Capozzi, 76 of Whiteland, IN passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at Franciscan Hospice House in Indianapolis, IN.
She was born August 13, 1948, in Beech Grove, IN to Lonnie R. and Betty M. (Riley) Rexroat. She married Dennis L. Capozzi on May 29, 1999, in Las Vegas, NV, he survives.
Karen was a 1966 graduate of Whiteland High School.
She had been a utility clerk for the Town of Whiteland retiring after 26 years of service.
Karen was a member of the Greenwood Moose Lodge #2079. She was also a life member of the New Whiteland VFW #6978 Auxiliary.
Karen enjoyed line dancing, spending time with her grandchildren and family.
Survivors include her husband Dennis L. Capozzi of Whiteland, IN, her children Chad Swearingen (Betsy) of Indianapolis, IN, Ryan Swearingen of Indianapolis, IN, Shawn Smith (Patrick) of Greenwood, IN and Eric Capozzi of Bargersville, IN, nine granddaughters Alexis Wells (Gage), Anna Terrell (Austin), Olivia Swearingen, Jillian Swearingen, Natalie Swearingen, Cassie Swearingen, Allyson Smith, Alayna Capozzi and Sunny Capozzi, two great grandsons Lincoln Wells and Luca Wells.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother Gary Rexroat.
A time of gathering and sharing celebrating the life of Karen A. Capozzi will be on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at the Greenwood Moose Lodge #2079 813 West Smith Valley Road in Greenwood, IN from 4PM until 8PM with the Reverend Shan Rutherford conducting a service at 6PM.
