Franklin Animal Clinic hosts donation drive

The clinic will be donating goods from now until Oct. 6 to help those affected by Hurricane Helene.

If you would like to be part of this effort, feel free to bring the items needed to the clinic, located at 2990 N. Morton St., Franklin.

Items needed: canned foods (pull tabs); snacks; bottle water; toiletries (toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, sanitary wipes, soap); cleaning items (gloves, tools, shovels, buckets); toilet paper, paper towels; bleach and vinegar (mold); dog and cat food.

All items will be going to those in need in Newport, Tennessee, on Oct. 8.

First Financial Bank hosts food drive

First Financial Bank will host a food drive in the Johnson County area from Oct. 7-25, accepting canned food and nonperishable boxed food in specially marked bins at its financial center at 50 Branigin Road in Franklin.

After the conclusion of the food drive, First Financial associates will choose local organizations to receive the food for distribution into the surrounding community. Supporting local residents is key to First Financial’s proudly local approach as friends, leaders and neighbors.

Doctors join Franciscan Health

Dr. Calvin Sheng and Dr. Yazeid Alshebani have joined Franciscan Physician Network Indiana Heart Physicians, 5330 E. Stop 11, Indianapolis., and are seeing new patients.

Dr. Sheng is an interventional cardiologist with a special interest in structural heart interventions. Board-certified in cardiology, Dr. Sheng received his medical degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine in Nashville, Tenn. He completed an internal medicine residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore.

Dr. Yazeid Alshebani specializes in non-invasive cardiology and advanced cardiovascular imaging. Board-certified in cardiology, Dr. Alshebani received his medical degree from Tripoli University, Faculty of Medicine, in Tripoli, Libya. He completed an internal medicine residency at Tripoli University and at the Creighton University Medical Center in Omaha, Neb.

Dr. Adam Hicks has joined Franciscan Physician Network Vascular Surgeons, 5255 E. Stop 11, Ste. 200, Indianapolis. He joins a team that offers a full range of services to treat both serious vascular diseases and venous conditions.

Board-certified, Dr. Hicks received his medical degree from the Indiana University School of Medicine. He completed his residency training in general surgery at the University of Louisville School of Medicine and completed a fellowship in vascular surgery at the Indiana University School of Medicine.
