Streamlined ‘Final Fridays’ event set for Friday in Old Town Greenwood

Restore Old Town Greenwood has scheduled two new events to make up for a rained-out “Final Fridays” event last month.

Final Fridays is an event by the organization designed to promote the Old Town area and its businesses, offering free music, special activities at businesses, extended hours and more. Their planned Sept. 27 event was canceled due to gusty winds and rain from the remnants of Hurricane Helene.

However, the event will go on this Friday with the first “Final Friday Rain Check,” a streamlined version of their usual Final Friday event.

For the Final Friday Rain Check, ROTG will be set up outside of Bayberry Spa, 1 N. Madison Ave., as they host their Taylor Swift-themed “Swiftied Soiree.” ROTG will have a friendship bracelet-making station for people to “get creative with your squad,” the organization says.

Other highlights of Friday’s event include:

  • Cakes by Chew will be offering treats for purchase
  • Live music by The Wandering Tulipps on Main Street from 5 to 8 p.m.
  • Dashboard Food Truck

Visitors are also encouraged to explore and support the businesses in Old Town Greenwood, and to join ROTG for a laid-back evening of community, music and fun, the organization says.

ROTG also plans to hold a second Final Friday Rain Check on Oct. 18. More details will be released closer to the event.
