Cougars roll in tourney opener
Class A No. 5 Greenwood Christian had little trouble in its first-round match at the Indianapolis Lutheran Sectional on Monday, cruising to a 5-0 win over Providence Cristo Rey. Bo Campbell scored three goals for the Cougars (9-4-2), who advance to face Christel House in a Wednesday semifinal. Trey Dobson and Andrew Ramlian each added a goal, while Caden Camden finished with three assists.
Braves eliminated from sectional
Indian Creek saw the best season in its brief history end with a 5-0 loss to Class 2A No. 8 Cascade in the first round of the Edgewood Sectional. The Braves, who won the Western Indiana Conference championship in their final season in that league, finish with an overall record of 9-5-2.
